Solutions for hard-to-reach surfaces

Laser cladding is no longer limited to external surfaces. Our internal diameter cladding capabilities enable us to apply corrosion and wear resistant coatings to the internal surfaces of tubes, pipes and other hard-to-reach places.

ID cladding can be used with a wide range of materials, including nickel, cobalt, or iron-based alloys, and carbide-matrix compounds. ACT has two ID Cladding platforms available. Our equipment can process:

  • • Internal diameters as small as 26 mm (approx. 1 inch) and up to 300 mm (11.8 inches)
       of insertion depth without existing equipment modifications
  • • Internal diameters of 76 mm (3 inches) diameter and up to 2 m (78.75 inches)
       of insertion depth without existing equipment modifications
  • • Longer insertion depths possible with equipment modifications
  • • Double-sided access enables ID cladding twice the stated values
